Women and hormones. We are famous for them. Too many, not enough, imbalanced, xeno, PMS, fertility, menopause, hormonal acne, hysterectomy (the greek “hystera” meaning uterus. We will let the modern day connotations of hysteria slide today).

For many women, certain times of the month expel a different personality, a different weight, a different health concern. Are we ruled by our estrogen to progestrogen ratio? can you have a baby, clear skin, a man who doesn’t irritate you half the month, pain-free cycles…

With time, and age, women are getting promotions, while balancing their home work life. With the added responsibilities, I often wonder what has been sacrificed.

Simply bringing awareness to the issue can begin to spark movement. Carolyn Myss, Medical Intuitive, gives questions one can ask oneself when faced with health concerns related to the 2nd chakra, such as a hormonal imbalance. For example, “Do you follow through on your creative ideas?” and “What goals do you have for yourself that you have yet to pursue? What stands in the way of acting upon them?”

Today’s woman wears many hats, and can easily become harnessed by life’s circumstances, and society’s paths.
