I’ve recently started food combining again, to help improve my digestion. I will write more about food combining in another post. Today I’d like to mention how I’ve been eating my oatmeal. The ingredients are 1/3 cup oatmeal, about 1.5 cups water (I like it to be gooey), and generous amounts of cocoa powder, and cinnamon. I also use 1/2 tbsp. of honey while the oatmeal is cooking, for its warming properties in Chinese medicine. This mixture is very warming and strengthening to the digestive tract. Normally, I suggest filling up the oatmeal with other goodies, like berries, flax, nuts and seeds, but not while food combining. You may be thinking that you will be hungry again in no time! I feel satisfied for about 1.5 to 2 hours with this breakfast, and then I will eat a piece of fruit too.
